Ventilation explained...
Why is ventilation important?
Safe & comfortable environment
Poor air quality can contribute to significant loss in productivity, low morale and higher rates of sickness amongst employees. The right ventilation will provide conditions under which people can work in comfort and safety.

Legal requirements
There are a number of legal ventilation requirements to be meet. An example is the minimum fresh air requirements of eight litres per second per person. If this can not be achieved naturally then mechanical ventilation is required by ‘Part F Legislation’.
How can Orbital help?
The team at Orbital is skilled in assessing the ventilation requirements for a multitude of environments. In order to assess clients’ ventilation needs we will consider:
- The level of natural ventilation
- The size and occupancy of the building
- The production of heat or fumes from any processes carried out in the environment
- All legal minimum ventilation requirements including airflow rates and air quality
Orbital’s preferred ventilation system is the Mitsubishi’s ‘Lossnay’…. Why?
Developed and refined over the past 30 years the Lossnay system has perfected the recovery of waste energy, whilst delivering fresh air ventilation within any building. The units extract stale air and then recover the heating or cooling energy to adjust the incoming fresh air to the desired temperature. In doing this the Lossnay system can save up to 30% on initial capital costs of heating and cooling equipment. We are confident that this ventilation system is currently the best on the market.
